History


An association of self esteemed dynamic village youth named as Janakalyan Jubak Sangha came into existence, being registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 in 1982 and with some necessary amendments in December 1994, it was re-named as UNNAYAN. Since then, it has been endeavoring to serve the disadvantaged people with people’s active participation through cultural, educational, social and developmental interventions based on community needs and priorities. UNNAYAN gives top most priority to grassroots level, and intends to prepare the human resources, as an active agent for developmental actions.

Aims & Objectives


The Society is established for the overall development of community with highest priority to children, women and youth especially belonging to weaker sections (i.e. SCs, STs, Backward Classes, Slum Dwellers etc.) of the society.

Executive Committee


Ranjita Nayak
Ranjita Nayak volunteered for Unnayan since 1999. She also worked as Secretary from 2008 to 2009. She is graduated and basically a home maker and keeps interest in Direct selling. She became Secretary of Unnayan in 2018 for the second time.
Abdul Azad Khan
Azad is a business professional. He has shown interest to serve for the rural poor & joined in Unnayan as member in the present Executive Committee in 2018.
Brundabana Sahoo
Brundabana Sahoo dedicated his life for the cause of social development.He is a graduate.He is associated with Unnayan from 1994 and worked as Secretary in Unnayan for five times in different chunks. He received best youth award for the year 1998 and Pakruti Bandhu award for the year 2004. He is working as treasury partner in Unnayan from 2018. He is looking after office coordination and filed activities.
Sasmita Nayak
Sasmita Nayak is a home maker. She is a graduate.She has shown interest for volunteering and joined in the present Executive Committee as member in 2018.
Kabita Mohanty
Kabita Mohanty joined as volunteer of Unnayan in the Year 2007.She is a post graduate.She enjoys working for promotion of education.She has been working as the member in the Executive Committee from 2014.
Golak Bihari Nayak
Golak Bihari Nayak was a well wisher of Unnayan. He was a post graduate and a retired Govt. Employee. He was an entrepreneur and working on promotion of rural entrepreneurship. He joined in the present Executive Committee as member in 2018.
Srikanta Kumar Rout
Srikanta Kumar Rout is Principal in the local educational Institution. He also worked for some time in Unnayan earlier. He is a post graduate and taken interest in social mobilization. He joined in the present Executive Committee as member in 2018.
Ramesh Mallick
Ramesh Mallick is a social worker. He is a graduate and an entrepreneur. He was a volunteer of Unnayan and worked as Co-ordinator from some time. He is involved in several activities of Unnayan.He joined in the Executive Committee of Unnayan as President from 2014.
Amitabh Nayak
Amitabh Nayak has been actively involved in different activities of Unnayan since 2011.He is a graduate. He joined in the present Executive Committee of Unnayan as member in 2018.
Dr. Alekh Chandra Patra
Dr. Alekh Chandra Patra is a retired academician. He is an exponent of propagating different models of poverty elimination. He is also an extempore orator and a free lancer. He joined in the present Executive Committee of Unnayan as member in 2018.
Dr. Manoranjan Nayak
Dr. Manoranjan Nayak is a professional Environmental Scientist. He worked as AVP in Reliance Power ltd and presently he is a freelance Consultant. He takes interest in social entrepreneurship. He joined in the Executive Committee of Unnayan as Chairman in 2018 for the second time.
